Press Release

John Lovelace Corp acquires a twin engine airplane

For Immediate Release: December 2006

A twin-engine Navajo will be joining the Cessna 185 for  aerial photography missions across the Canadian wild.

"As the bar on our production quality is constantly raised, I knew we were outgrowing the capabilities of a single-engine aircraft," said Mr. Lovelace. "We picked the Navajo because it's tough and because we can pack a load and travel 1000 miles," he added. "While we will still use the Cessna 185 for flights to BC locations, the Navajo will give us access to the remote northern regions we couldn't reach with the Cessna."

The Navajo 310 has been recently restored with new interior, engines and paint, and has been modified with Vortex generators and high-performance Black Max props. The plane was also updated with GAMI Fuel Injectors, a moving Map GPS by AvMap, digital fuel Flow instruments by JPI, and an XRX Traffic avoidance system by Zaon.

The Navajo will be also be used for filming Wings Over Canada in the summer of 2007.  The plane will also serve as the lead aircraft for  the Century of Flight Celebration in July 2009.

"The aircraft is the culmination of work by individuals across Canada,"
said John Lovelace. Importation was done by Joe Kane in Barrie, Ontario. Fuel sponsorship is by Shell Aviation of Calgary, Alberta. Maintenance is by Ferkus Maintenance of Chilliwack, BC. John's multi-training was provided by Peter Lubig, who flies with Jazz in Toronto, and Darren Edwards of KD Air of Vancouver Island. The aircraft is insured by BC based Park Aviation.

John Lovelace Corporation provides aircraft and consulting work for ATV Productions the owners of Canadas Longest Running Aviation series Wings Over Canada.
