ABOUT THE YUKON FLIGHT

THIS IS YOUR INVITATION TO JOIN US THIS SUMMER BETWEEN JULY 17TH & JULY 24TH

A celebration of history, aviation and the wonder of Canada’s Yukon.

If you are a licensed pilot, have access to an airplane, and have a spirit of adventure then why not join us on a trip of a lifetime to explore Canada’s Yukon.

Open to Canadian & US registered aircraft.

Last year, 200 crew flying 100 airplanes made history with a Cross Canada Flight in honour of the 100th birthday of Flying in Canada. Many of these pilots had made the trip before, but this was different. Traveling large distances with the comfort and security of a large group of aircraft or spending evenings by an open camp fire in a circle of aircraft, or touring an aviation museum with 100 other pilots gave this trip a special meaning.

So we are going to do it again only this time instead of heading east we are turning our aircraft north and heading into the Yukon.

The Yukon in July is like no other place on earth and probably not what most expect. Warm summer days in a Northern Sun which never fully sets, broad valleys carved by ancient rivers that still bear gold and breathtaking mountain vistas in one of the most unpopulated areas on the planet. The flight is designed for VFR pilots with a spirit of adventure. First you join up with us in one of three Flight groups leaving Ontario, Manitoba, or British Columbia. Each flight is led by an experienced flight marshall. All the fuel stops and overnight stays are planned out ahead of time. All flights link up in historic Whitehorse for a 5 night stay.

The itinerary in the Yukon includes evening functions, two banquets, fly outs to Dawson and Atlin, optional flight navigation contests, trip to a real Ghost town, river canoeing, flight over the fiords, gold panning, an evening at the Follies, and a wilderness hike and a visit to a first Nations heritage site. Also in Whitehorse there is a special Flying event [optional] that can only be revealed when we arrive in the Yukon. Then you will fully understand why the event is called the Midnight Sun Challenge. The flight is headed by Celebrity Pilot John Lovelace the veteran host of Wings Over Canada.

This is the 10th time John has flown a light aircraft into the Yukon and he knows this land well. Join us for the adventure of a lifetime in the largest group flights ever offered. Be part of a television event that will be aired Nationally. Meet new and old friends who share in the Love of flying in Canada and become part of the Century Flight Club with a lifetime membership as our gift to you for joining our flight!
